"He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy." Proverbs 14:21

Solomon must have taken close interest in the lives of his people and noted those who made a success in life and those who failed to learn some basic truths for happiness and fulfilment. He was very emphatic that how we view our neighbours can be sinful. Selfcentred people can find they live a life that is unfulfilled and unrewarding. Yet those who show pity, kindness or compassion to the poor are themselves blessed. The interesting thing is that in both cases it is our attitude to others which causes us to receive the blessing or the condemnation.

If God treated us the way we treat each other we would all be without hope and without a future. The way we treat others communicates much about what we know of God and how he wants us to live happy and fulfilled lives.

We have recently written five year plans for each of our programs at Eagles Wings. For our Camp Program we would love to eventually have our own facilities within Livingstone. This could open many doors for Eagles Wings, one of which would be to run more than one camp each year. As many children’s lives have been positively impacted on Camp, we see this as such an awesome opportunity.

Part of this five year plan means that we need to obtain land, which is becoming increasingly difficult due to the massive development of Livingstone Town. As Zimbabwe’s border town of Victoria Falls suffers from the political and economic issues that Zimbabwe faces, Livingstone is growing. Therefore land has become like gold to international corporations.

Lackson and Clayton recently met with Cool Bananas, a community development project in Zambia who already own land within Livingstone. Cool Bananas have generously offered Eagles Wings land for FREE so that we can develop our Camp Program. All Cool Bananas have asked in return is that we continue to advise them with community development work, which is more of a privilege than a burden. We are humbled by this offer.

Clayton, our new Camp Program Coordinator, will confirm this opportunity in February 2008 when he meets with Cool Bananas in Livingstone to view the land. Please be in prayer as this offer unfolds and that if God has this land for us, the doors will continue to open.

FROM PREVIOUS UPDATES

Family Program Much prayer and wisdom is needed in this program, especially with the reintegration of children into existing families. During a recent visitation, one relative of a child in our care told Lackson and Augustine that she would rather kill herself than take the child back into her home. This is an extreme example, but shows the difficulties that Eagles Wings faces with reintegration of children in care and also the type of emotional abuse these young children go through, at times unbearable to consider.
Please Pray:
- For Lackson and Augustine as they continue to work with existing families. Pray for wisdom and discernment as to which children can be reintegrated.

Street Children Documentary
Matthew is well on his way with the documentary on street children. During late December he will meet up with Reid in Sydney to show the first cut of the film and discuss the content.
Please Pray
- For continued inspiration for Matthew as he edits the documentary.
- For strength and peace in making a film that reflects God’s heart for the poor and oppressed.
- That after the film is completed, doors will be opened to show it in various churches.

NEW PRAISE AND PRAYER POINTS

Government Exams

Eagles Wings sponsors 47 children into various Government Schools in Zambia. Some of these students face the nerve-racking task of writing major exams over the coming weeks.
Please Pray
- That not only do our students study hard for these exams, but that they have clear minds when writing them.

Clayton & Anna Hinds

After completing their first year at Eagles Wings, Clayton and Anna leave for Australia very soon for their Christmas break during December. Hopefully, this will be a time to relax, refresh and enjoy the company of their friends and family before returning to Eagles Wings early in 2008.
Praise God:
- For their commitment and enormous effort during 2007, a year which has brought many challenging times and many great memories.
Please Pray
- For safety and refreshment during their holiday.

grade4student.jpgEducation Program

Our Education Program continues to grow and develop. Two more teachers have been employed to cater for our needs in 2008.
Praise God:
- For our new staff, Mrs. Moyo and Mr. Bwalya.
Please Pray:
- For Daniel, our Principal, and his staff members as they face the challenges of working in this unique Community School. Eagles Wings is unique in Zambia, as we are using many new methods to bring quality education within the context of a community school.
- For wisdom, strength and unity among all our teaching staff.

Praise Focus

During the past 12 months, our AEP has seen ten
women participate in tailoring classes. Out of these
ten, six women wanted to sit for government examinations
to receive official recognition for their tailoring
skills. This will open up new opportunities for
those that passed. All six women passed this examination, which is a credit to themselves, to Sarah our AEP coordinator
and Eliud our AEP Tailoring Teacher. Congratulations to all.
Our new intake for this class has been increased to 15 women. Please continue to pray for the new students as they learn
this skill. Please pray for Eliud and Sarah as they strive to open up new opportunities for women living in poverty.
