"Who then is he that can stand before me? Who has given to me that I
should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine."
Job 41:10b-11

It is typical of many to believe we have rights and significance in the world we live in. We think we are very intelligent, can achieve wonderful things, create a variety of great inventions and even control and intervene in the course of nature and life itself as though we designed it. The fact is however all our wisdom is simply foolishness compared to God (1 Corinthians 1:25) and any good we do is like filthy rags to Him (Isaiah 64:6). Our very breath is maintained by the goodness of God and our life only continues until God decides our time is over.

Human arrogance may be a source of amusement to God, but sadly it can be part of our nature as Christians as well. How many of us expect God to thank us for what we are doing for Him, what we have given to His work, how we have suffered for Him or that we are needed for His work to go ahead? We need a reality check every now and again to see ourselves as we really are: creatures made by God, placed in a world by Him and totally dependent on Him. He owes us nothing and yet He has allowed us to ‘partner’ with Him in the most exciting plan He has devised to take man to a whole new level with Him. It is a great privilege to be part of His great plan and to share it with all we meet, be it in our own country or overseas.

So far Reid, Matthew, Lackson and Clayton have been in Malawi and Zambia filming for the street children documentary. They have Zimbabwe, Lesotho and the Congo remaining to film in that may prove even more difficult than Malawi and Zambia. Political instability and severe economic hardship brings a level of sensitivity towards film crews, not to mention current feelings and tensions towards Westerners. Misunderstandings and overly sensitive confrontations have already taken place so much prayer is needed as they approach the final three countries. The end result is hopefully a documentary that raises awareness and a loud voice for the plight of street children, but to get there is a difficult road to travel!

FROM PREVIOUS UPDATES

Short-termers

Sue and Matthew continue to work alongside staff and volunteers in the ministry of Eagles Wings. Also joining them this coming month is Andrea Bailey. Andrea is a nurse and will be working alongside Anna providing health care and health education to children and families of Eagles Wings.
Please Pray
- For Andrea as she settles into life at Eagles Wings. Pray that she will have strength and understanding as she works and ministers in a new culture.

NEW PRAISE AND PRAYER POINTS

Sickness at Eagles Wings

The cooler months are upon us here in Zambia and with that has come the usual round of coughs, colds and flus within both Eagles Wings and the community.
Please Pray
- For healing and comfort for those who are sick.
- For health and protection for Eagles Wings staff and children and the community around us.
- For wisdom for Anna as she attends to many patients and administers medicines.

Cement

Construction work for the soccer World Cup in South Africa in 2010 is affecting our building projects in Zambia. The majority of cement that is produced in Zambia is being sold to South Africa, leaving shortages and 100% inflation of price in Ndola. The affect of this has even resulted in the creation of a black market for cement on the streets of Ndola!
Please Pray
- For a reduction in the price and availability of cement for Eagles Wings so that our school, shop and farming projects can be completed.

Jack Kapipe

Jack is the newest addition to the Eagles Wings family under our Full Care Program. After spending much of their lives alone and/or without authority figures, it often takes these children time to learn to submit to parental and school authority figures. It also takes time for them to learn to control their behaviour, as on the streets they are free to behave in any way. Whilst our other new boys, Godfrey, Justin and Misheck are settling in well, Jack is still struggling, being disobedient and angry, causing fights and hurting other children.
Praise God
- For bringing Jack, Godfrey, Justin and Misheck to Eagles Wings and that through His work here, many children’s lives are being changed.
Please Pray
- For Jack. Pray that he will learn to be obedient and kind. Pray that he will learn to make good choices and change his behaviour. Pray that he will feel at peace and at home during his stay at Eagles Wings.

Expansion of Eagles

Wings We continue to pray for expansion of Eagles Wings’ ministry, especially with children on the streets of Southern African countries. Planning and ideas are beginning to form as we head towards starting work early 2008.
Please Pray
- For those involved in planning and designing the means and method of expansion. Please pray for wisdom and understanding as to where the Holy Spirit is leading and what would be most effective in each country.

Sylvia and Helen just before jumping
Sylvia and Helen just before jumping
Camp 2007 has come and gone and was a fantastic nine days of fun, exploration, learning and friendships. The children and leaders alike enjoyed seeing and learning about Livingstone and Zambia and brave competition winners experienced the thrill of the bunji jump, the gorge swing, a helicopter flight, a microlight flight and an elephant ride, among many other exciting activities. Beautiful relationships were built between leaders and children. Zambian, Aussie and Kiwi leaders experienced daily fellowship as they met for prayer and devotion each morning and shared their challenges and struggles during chats around the camp fire.

We praise God that the Gospel was able to be clearly and effectively communicated via materials from Global Recordings Network in Australia and that His Holy Spirit was moving in the hearts of those 26 Children who received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Please join us as we praise God for His salvation and continue to pray for Justin, Jack, Misheck, Gibson, Precious, Abraham, Clara, Prince, Dunken, Grace, Faides, Anna, Ireen, Lydia, Justin, Miriam, Purity, Nfela, Sharon, Gift, Helen, Agnes, Enoch, Belita, Mambwe and Webby as they are followed up and grow in their relationship with Christ.
