Adventure With Eternal Purpose

Family holidays build great memories of adventure and there is always a story to tell. For many children in Zambia though, a holiday is a foreign idea. The capacity for families to take even a small holiday is non-existent. In fact, leaving the surroundings of their own community is a dream often never realized.

For 40 children in July each year this dream becomes a reality they will never forget. Leaving from Ndola in the early hours of the morning, the 40 children, 20 leaders, cooks, drivers and coordinators reach Livingstone before nightfall after a long, but excitedly expectant, 12 hour bus trip.

BW Camp Photo Over the next seven days, children and leaders create memories and enjoy many adventures together. These include experiencing the mighty Victoria Falls, Crocodile Park, River Cruise on the Zambezi and spotting animals in the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park. Most importantly, each morning and evening children and leaders sit together and learn from God's Word, sowing seeds into young lives and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Time spent together, although tiring, builds unforgettable friendships between all involved, especially children with their leaders. The transformation in both leaders and children is significant: Giving and investing into the lives of children who have suffered much gives leaders new perspectives. Eyes opened to hope, hearing and seeing the Good News played out in word and deed, impacts children for eternity.

OUR DREAM for the next five years:
Our dream is to have permanent camp facilities within Livingstone that will increase our capacity to run camps, enabling hundreds more children to participate. We hope to acquire land, construct basic camping facilities and place a full time coordinator into this program.
