Who would we drop out?  It was a decision I was certainly hesitant to make and so I rang Reid and talked it over with him. His response was, ?If God was leading each of these people towards Zambia, who were we to say they could not go?? It was decided we would include each and every one of them in the team.  What a wonderful blessing that decision turned out to be. The team eventually numbered twenty in size and consisted of two from America, one from Tasmania, two from Sydney and the rest from various parts of Brisbane.

Building IndoorsIn all my years of ministry, both as an accredited Pastor and as a Lay Leader within the church, I can truly say I have never ever experienced the wonderful team spirit that this team possessed.  What a privilege and blessing, a special time and a real joy to have been a part of this team, having a sense that God was doing a very special thing with these people. The days were long and often the work on the School was hard. The materials and tools we had were often far different than what we enjoy here in Australia. The spirit of each team member was refreshing, a joke or light hearted word was always on hand as was heartfelt compassion and love for those who needed understanding and help or a small prayer to get them through the day.  I?m made to wonder, yet again, at the awesome blessings God sends our way.

On the first Sunday we were there I took my first walk around the building site.  It was a quiet and contemplative walk as I sized up the task that awaited the team. I can truly say that I came away feeling that the task was more than we as a team could comfortably handle.  I kept those thoughts to myself, simply determining to allow the team to do the very best they could and achieve as much as possible even if we were unable to tick everything off the list at the end of our stay there.
