Take from among you a contribution to the LORD; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as the LORD'S contribution: gold, silver, and bronze… Exodus 35:5

Praise & Prayer – November, 2006

The first five books of the Bible have been recognized as the books of the Law where God’s people were given extensive instructions on how they were to approach God. However, in the middle of all these instructions the grace of God is never far away and shows He is always looking for willing hearts. So often we put burdens and guilt trips on people to conform to what we see as the ‘law of God’ however God is looking for willing hearts. As Romans 12:1 says, ‘I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercies, to offer your bodies as living (and willing) sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship.’ Is our service to God driven by duty or from a willing or generous heart in response to all he has done for us?

FROM PREVIOUS UPDATES

1. Lackson in Australia – Lackson, Mark and Reid are now in Melbourne with two weeks remaining on their promotional tour of Australia. God’s blessing on the month in New South Wales was evident with many funds being raised. The funds raised in Queensland and New South Wales are sufficient to purchase a bus for Eagles Wings in Zambia!
Praise God – For the word of Eagles Wings being spread to so many people.
- For the funds raised to purchase the bus.
Please Pray – For enthusiasm and energy for Lackson, Reid and Mark as they continue to tell the same stories to new audiences.
- For God’s continued blessing and provision for the remaining two weeks.

2. American Office – Gaining tax deductibility status is an urgent need for the American Office to be able to receive and process donations. They continue to wait for news whether or not one church will be able to process the funds and provide tax deductibility to donors. On a positive note, Kate has been asked to speak at two organizations about the work of Eagles Wings.
Praise God – For the opportunities Kate has to share the work of Eagles Wings.
Please Pray – For tax deductibility status for Eagles Wings in the USA.
- For Kate, as she prepares to share with others about the ministry in Zambia.

3. Stage 2 – The second building of Eagles Wings Christian Community School is now up to window level. African Quest continues to assist with the building project in Zambia, which needs to be at roof level for the arrival of the Building Team in April, 2007.
Praise God – For continued progress with the building and assistance from African Quest.

4. Adult Education Program – Our AEP continues to progress well with parents from four shanty compounds participating enthusiastically in the program. David Matolokoshi sends praise and prayer points:
Praise God – That the AEP is going well.
Please Pray – For salvation for the parents and also that they will keep the same spirit of wanting to learn more and more.
- That God will give them their physical needs.
- That the relationship between the adults and the teachers will continue building up.
- That God will continue giving the teachers strength to continue doing His work.

5. Frankie, Taxi Driver – Frankie has recovered well and has now begun attending church.
Praise God – For Frankie’s recovery and interest in God.
Please Pray – For understanding for Frankie as he attends church.
- For Frankie’s salvation.

6. Exams – David writes, ‘The grade sevens have all written their exams. The grade nines are still writing.’
Praise God – For helping the grade 7 students with exams.
Please Pray – For those grade 9 students who face exams in the coming weeks.

7. Joseph – Joseph has made a full recovery from malaria and is now attending school again.
Praise God – For His healing hand upon Joseph and Joseph’s full recovery.

8. Full Care Children – Some of the older girls at the Centre have returned home again. This is a dangerous time for the girls as they face evil practices and temptations in the shanty compound where their families live. The remaining children at the Centre are behaving well.
Please Pray – For the girls. Pray that God will keep them away from evil and out of all temptation.
- That life at the Centre will continue to go well and that all staff and volunteers will have strength and wisdom as they care for the children.

NEW PRAISE & PRAYER POINTS

1. Unity – While our staff each have different departments they are responsible for, a united team is essential for the work in Zambia to progress and grow.
Please Pray – For unity between all Zambian and Western staff and volunteers.

2. Abson, Security Guard – The task of guarding Eagles Wings at night, including both the Centre and the School is not an easy job. The threat of robbers has been very real throughout the past couple of months, making the job of Security Guard a challenging one for Abson.
Please Pray – For strength for Abson to do this job.
- For security for all land and property of Eagles Wings’.
- For protection from all danger for Abson and all the staff and children at Eagles Wings.

3. Bus – The plans for the purchase of a bus have changed after Lackson met a Zambian man in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. This man is a car and bus dealer who imports vehicles from Dubai to Zambia! A higher quality bus for a smaller price is available in Dubai. It will be shipped to Tanzania and then driven to Zambia, a much safer route than from Durban.
Praise God – For bringing Lackson and the Zambian car dealer to the Blue Mountains on the same day and enabling them to meet!
