What did they learn?

It was also a time of learning for the children ? about what they?d seen as well as about our amazing God who knows and loves each of them intimately.  Each morning began with devotions where such topics as eternity, accountability for what God gives us (following this lesson one child whose treasured possessions consisted solely of a small carved fridge magnet and a little cookbook bought lollies for everyone when given a small amount to spend on himself!), and Samson who found honey in the carcass of a dead lion ? each child may think he/she is a worthless carcass, but God sees honey and sweetness in him/her.  On the last night, all the children were presented with certificates such as ?Most Helpful?, ?Most Studious?, ?Most Serious? and ?Most Improved?.  The children loved it and went into an uproar at the announcement of each certificate ? the looks on the faces of these children who had never before received such recognition for achieving anything was priceless and treasured.

But the Lord?s blessings continued much further than this ? as a result of the Holy Spirit?s leading through the devotions and the love and example of their leaders, 27 children responded to Jesus Christ?s awesome love for them and made commitments to give their lives to Him!  This added to the 11 who had made commitments just prior to the trip as well as one more child who is gravely ill in hospital and has given his life to Jesus Christ in the last week.

Please join us in:

  • praising God for His incredible blessings and miracles
  • praying for these precious children who have made commitments to follow Christ ? for their protection and growth
  • praying for the Zambian Eagles Wings team members and members of the local Grace and Truth Baptist Church as they seek God?s guidance in discipling such a large number of new Christians
  • for the ongoing ministry of Eagles Wings in the community.
