"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

Recently in Australia we have had memorial services throughout the country to remember past wars and battles won or lost. In comparison, our battles as Christians are not physical, nor of this world, but can be as painful and the consequences even more damaging. Our problem is that the enemy is not obvious and visible and therefore we need God-given spiritual protection, such as that described in Ephesians 6:14-18.

We need to see many of the circumstances we are faced with for what they really
are: attacks of evil forces to stop us from doing what God has planned for us to do
for His kingdom. God’s plans have everlasting spiritual consequences for those He
is seeking, far beyond our present lifetime and physical world. Therefore because
the work that God has called you to will impact someone for the whole of eternity,
do not be put off by obstacles and attacks of evil forces that try to divert you from
completing your God-given mission.

Prayer Points

Sarah (AEP Coordinator)

Sarah, our AEP Coordinator, is seven months pregnant. Her last pregnancy resulted in the loss of her baby and almost her own life due to eclampsia, a condition which causes extremely high blood pressure during pregnancy. Doctors are observing her condition closely and all seems to be progressing well up to now, but it could soon change.

Please Pray

  • For wisdom for Sarah and those who will be delivering the baby. It is a very delicate situation which needs much prayer!

Praise Points

Daniel is Home

After two months away from Eagles Wings, Daniel, our Principal and coordinator of the Education Program, is finally home in Zambia. It was not all smooth traveling for him, missing his flight from Johannesburg to Ndola. He may have been starting to think that he would never make it back! It was such an eye opening experience for him and we thank God for the opportunity that he had to see how Christian schools function in Australia. While he was away, Sylvia did a tremendous job keeping the program running effectively and the school term was a successful time for the 250 plus children involved in the Education Program.

Praise Points in Brief

Nico

  • It is now time to harvest our maize. We thank God for the crop that will keep maize stocks for the dry season.
  • Clayton and Anna had a short trip to South Africa. It was a very refreshing time for them both.

FROM PREVIOUS UPDATES

Documentary Launch Lusaka

The launch of Ubuntu: The Street Child Story will take place on the 19th July at the Holiday Inn, Lusaka. We hope that many influential leaders will be available to view the film. The launch will be a point of contact with leaders who we hope will cause an increased effort to minister to children who find themselves on the streets.

Please Pray

  • For wisdom and opportunities in this showing of Ubuntu.
  • That the Holy Sprit will bring conviction into hearts that can make a difference for street children.

New AEP Teacher

Violet is the latest addition to our staff, having been employed as our teacher within the Adult Education Program. This position was left vacant by Emmy after she married and moved to Lusaka.

Praise God

  • For Violet’s appointment.

Please Pray

  • That Violet will settle well into her new role within the AEP.
  • For Emmy. Pray that she will continue to know God’s leading in her life as she settles in Lusaka.

Family Program

Pumba

The three year old boy who was brought to Eagles Wings after being found abandoned will be placed into a nursery school in Ndola. After an intensive search no existing family has been found. Those who came forward in response to our radio advertising were not the parents. It was therefore not only disappointing for Eagles Wings but also for those who came in the hope that they would find their child.

Praise God

  • That he will be able to start nursery school very soon!

Please Pray

  • That his family will be found so that we can begin to look at the issues that led to his abandonment.

NEW PRAISE AND PRAYER POINTS

Small Business Course

18 women from our AEP are attending a small business course run by Leonard Mutono, Director of MMM International (Zambia). The two week course includes entrepreneurial business and market survey sectors which will bring new innovative ways in which the participants will be able to increase their family’s financial capacity.

Please Pray

  • For wisdom and understanding for Leonard and the participants as they go through this course together.
