"At that time you will say, 'I thank you, Lord! You were angry with me, but you
stopped being angry and gave me comfort.'" Isaiah 12:1
So much of what we incorrectly blame on God can be created from a wrong
attitude. ‘At that time’ indicates a specific moment in our life when we made the
definite decision to change our attitude. When the going gets tough we have a
choice: shake our fist at God in anger or be accepting of what we are experiencing
and respond, “I thank you, Lord”. Whatever we felt God was angry with us about
and was the cause of our discomfort can amazingly dissolve away and we can
see God in a totally different light. He then can be seen as the God of all comfort
that He is.

"Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again." Ecclesiastes 11:1
Many different types of bread can be made. But I have not seen many that would
survive floating on water for any length of time! To me, the writer is describing a
hopeless situation. Even if by some means the bread did continue to float, the
chances of us finding it again are fairly remote.

"He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy." Proverbs 14:21
Solomon must have taken close interest in the lives of his people
and noted those who made a success in life and those who
failed to learn some basic truths for happiness and fulfilment. He
was very emphatic that how we view our neighbours can be sinful.
Selfcentred people can find they live a life that is unfulfilled and
unrewarding. Yet those who show pity, kindness or compassion
to the poor are themselves blessed. The interesting thing is that in
both cases it is our attitude to others which causes us to receive
the blessing or the condemnation.

"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall
know fully, even as I am fully known." 1Corinthians 13:12
Our journey on earth is a walk of faith: Faith that rests in the knowledge
that the future is in God’s hands, faith that His love for us will never end,
faith that He will continue to guide our steps and faith that no matter
what happens, God is in control.
