About Us
History Print E-mail
Eagles Wings was founded by Lackson Matolokoshi, Mark Holstein and Reid Anderton. Unqualified, ill equipped and not really knowing where they were heading, Lackson, Mark and Reid each stepped out in faith with a desire and passion to help children suffering in poverty. Convicted and compelled to help: this is their story.

Vision Print E-mail

Our vision is to partner with poor communities, that through Christ we may see their children transformed to live in freedom, free to dream and empowered to fulfil them.

Mission Print E-mail
Our mission is to work with children in poverty, assisting them to reach their God given potential. We do this through partnering with their existing family and community to bring education, hope, renewal and justice through Jesus Christ.

Values Print E-mail

Simple Lifestyle - We are committed to a lifestyle that reflects prayerful concern of the resources God has given mankind. We seek to confront the emphasis on materialism and its associated greed that is increasing global poverty. We embrace a simplistic lifestyle that is consistent with the teachings of Jesus.
(1 Timothy 6:6 - 8, Luke 12:33 - 34)

Community - We believe that our ministry can only be effective through partnering with the community we seek to serve. We partner by building positive friendships with those who have a mutual concern and vision of seeing the poor and oppressed lifted up.
(John 15:12 - 17)

Holistic Ministry - We believe that serving the poor requires more than words. We seek to look at the total needs of the poor, developing communities where justice, freedom and empowerment exist.
(James 2:15 - 16, 1 John 3:16 - 18)

Servant Attitude - We seek to follow Him who came "not to be served but to serve". So we come to the poor in a spirit of servanthood, partnering with the poor for their empowerment.
(Mark 10:45)

Church Partners Print E-mail

Cleveland Baptist Church (CBC)

CBC has been a long term contributor to the work of Eagles Wings and has partnered with Eagles Wings (EW) administration. Our Australian office is run out of the CBC church complex and they have also financially partnered in 2008 by covering the costs of administration. This allows EW to continue to offer donors the ability to have 100% of their funds reach the ground, untouched by administration costs. This ability to maximize donor funds has been an area that EW is passionate about and hopes to continue as we grow.

Victoria Point Baptist Church (VPBC)

VPBC has been a long term contributor to the work of Eagles Wings (EW). Pastor Joe Jansen has led two building teams to EW to help in the huge task of completing stages one and two of Eagles Wings Christian Community School. VPBC have committed to financing and sending a 20 foot container in late 2008 to coincide with the start of stage three. This container will take both educational and building materials to EW. This is a huge task requiring much involvement in contributing the goods to be sent. Please contact Pastor Joe Jansen or Lyndell Pascoe if you would like to contribute either to the team in 2009 or the container in late 2008.

Toongabbie Baptist Church (TBC)

TBC are partnering with Eagles Wings (EW) in two ways during 2008. First, they are financing the costs of our Director’s wage. This is exciting for EW as we have a church that is interested in the people as well as the mission. Second, they have partnered to finance our Camp Program for 2008, which provides 40 disadvantaged children an experience they will never forget (read more under the Camp Program section or view 2007 Camp video). Since Camp Program’s inception in 2004 we have seen 120 children take part with 80 committing their lives to Christ on camp.

Bracken Ridge Baptist Church (BRBC)

BRBC are Eagles Wings first Australian partner for the new Acts Initiative program that focuses on local church empowerment in social justice ministries. This is a new and exciting program that has real potential to impact the lives of hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children throughout Southern Africa by bringing local church to the forefront of ministry to their own community. BRBC have committed to partner with Eagles Wings by supporting a full time social worker in a local church ministry to orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho called Love in Action Lesotho (LiaL) for a 12 month period. (See Update 2 2008 for more information on LiaL). We look forward to developing both the partnership with BRBC and also the Acts Initiative program over the coming years.
